I've always been a fan of Lauren Conrad and The Hills and she's my inspiration, not only in terms of fashion and beauty but also because she was able to do more than just be another reality TV star.
When I saw that she had launched a collection of books, I was super excited, not only because I like her but also because the books theme sounded very interesting.
This book talks about Jane Roberts who moves to Los Angeles and a TV producer hires Jane and Scarlett, who is her best friend, to make a reality show. All goes well until a disagreement between the two girls endangers not only their friendship but also the future of the show.
Does the story sounds familiar to you? Well, for those who watched The Hills, that's normal, despite being written in the third person, the book has many similarities with Lauren Conrad real story.
We have access to some technical television details and we found out that being famous has its good side, but not always.
I bought the LA Candy at the beginning of last year, but I was reading another book, so I didn't start reading right away and I ended up forgetting about it. I decided to pick it up now because I want to buy the other two books in the collection: Sweet Little Lies and Sugar and Spice.
I bought the book on BookDepository, an online store in the UK, but they offer free shipping worldwide and it cost me about €6.50. It comes in English, which for me is not a problem, because if I was expecting it to be translated into Portuguese, I probably never would buy it.
When I finish the book, I will do a review here on the blog because many people would like to buy but are not sure if the book is good.
So I'll prepare a very detailed review on the Lauren Conrad's, LA Candy.
